Lina Cavalieri for the Manhattan.
Oscar Hammerstein has engaged Lina Cavalieri, the Italian soprano who appeared last season at the Metropolitan, for a series of four performances at the Manhattan Opera House. Miss Cavalieri will probably make her first appearance next week as Mimi in “La Bohème.” It is understood that she will also appear in the title rôle in “Thaïs.”Last updated December 29, 2006
