I hear from Paris that Jules Massenet will go to America next season to produce his operas, “Esclarmonde,” “Herodiade,” “Le Cid,” and “Manon,” leading the orchestra himself. Sixty representations will be given, and Miss Sibyl Sanderson will be the prima donna. The expenses will be paid by a syndicate formed principally among the stockholders of the Metropolitan Opera House. The tour will extend from, Boston to San Francisco, beginning in New York.
