Bob’s American Statesmen Series

          The American Statesmen series of 33 biographies published by Houghton Mifflin from 1898 until 1916 contains 32 volumes in the original series and 9 volumes in the second series. The PDF files were downloaded from Internet Archive and navigation added.
     All biographies are in PDF format and require Adobe Reader 5 or later to read and access these volumes. There are two types of PDF files included: searchable and page captures. The first allows you to search the document for specific words or phrases (all within the PDF file). The second only contains “pictures” of each page of the book (usually mechanically scanned) of varying quality. If the original page, that was scanned, was printed in 1800 there are over 200 years of aging shown on the capture. Bob has tried to exclude any volume that were unreadable.
     Bob has added bookmarks to all PDF volumes for easier navigation than originally provided by either Google Books or Internet Archive.
