Background

Synopsis

     Europa is betrothed to Pergamon but prefers "cattle" in the shape of a bull (the god Jupiter). Pergamon shoots the bull, but the arrow is deflected magically back to Pergamon's own breast - an unusual end to a bullfight. Jupiter bears Europa away on his back.
