Significant French Operas

     The list known as the "Significant French Operas" was created from A Short History of Opera by Donald J. Grout (my first book on opera). In addition to the operas found in Grout, the Massenet Society's members added operas that they considered special and deserved further notice. The list is sorted as follows:
